Thatcham Comedy Club is our town's very own comedy night, featuring professional acts from the Comedy Circuit in London and the South. Every two months or so, we host a line up of established and newer comedy talent, including acts that have graced the stage of bigger venues like the world famous Comedy Store and have TV and radio credits to their names.
Mike Cox made his mark on the comedy circuit with his sharp wit and everyday cynicism which have seen him crowned winner of the Fosters South Coast Comedian of the Year, while he reached the final of Amused Moose Laugh Off 2016 both the semi-finals of So You Think You're Funny in 2012 and The Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year in 2013. Mike's accessible style and ease with both mainstream and alternative audiences currently make him one of the most enjoyable comics to watch.
Tim Sque was one of the acts at the recent Thatcham Festival gig who won the audience vote for a chance to return to Thatcham Comedy Club. His deadpan style is a lovely counter to what are often very silly and delightful one-liner gags.
Dalia is an American/Egyptian with a unique take on life in the UK. Her brash American attitude dominates all her interactions with the audience, and she's a sassy, no-nonsense kinda gal.
Rob Deering performs stand-up comedy with music, using a guitar, a loop pedal and his voice to create impressive rock and pop soundscapes – and do jokes, of course.
Along with being one of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit, he's toured nationally and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe many times since starting out in comedy in the year 2000. His late-night, live-music comedy pop quiz Beat This is a festival institution, on London's South Bank, at Wales' Green Man and many more besides Edinburgh.
Rob has performed in shows from the Middle East to Melbourne, Shanghai to the South of France, and he has appeared on any number of Radio and TV shows, often using his extensive knowledge of film, popular music and… well, 'general'; he has won Celebrity Mastermind and a comedians' special of the Weakest Link on BBC One, for example.
